Angela Hewitt

Angela Hewitt, one of Canada's foremost musicians and one of the world’s most eminent interpreters of the music of J.S. Bach, has performed extensively across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Ottawa, has won the prestigious International Bach competition and in July 2000, she became an Officer of the Order of Canada. Hewitt is a founding member of Piano Six, a group of professional pianists that has made many concert appearances in small or isolated centres across Canada. The group received the Chalmers Foundation 2000 National Music Award for making “a valuable contribution to Canadian culture.” Hewitt also contributes to education of future musicians by lecturing, teaching and conducting master classes.
