Gordon Herman

President's Service Award - Spring 2010

For more than 40 years, Gordon Herman has kept the lights on at the University of Saskatchewan and has made sure the electrical infrastructure is safe for everyone on campus.

As an electrical supervisor in the Facilities Management Division, Herman brings a level of professionalism that is unmatched. He continually receives commendation from staff and outside contractors for both his respectful approach and strong leadership.

Responsible for the day-to-day installation, repair and maintenance of the electrical equipment used across campus, Herman works to ensure the electrical infrastructure is well maintained, meets all codes and standards, and never fails to support the university’s academic and research activities. His concern for on-the-job safety earned him the Workplace Safety and Environmental Protection Safety Recognition Award in 2005.
